Elena Matera is a freelance climate and environmental journalist based in Berlin. She works for media outlets such as Deutschlandradio, Die Zeit, Stern magazine, and RiffReporter. She spent two months in Lithuania as part of the International Journalist Program (IJP). Her work earned her the Helmut Schmidt Young Journalist Prize in 2020, and in 2023, she was named one of Medium Magazin’s Top Ten Science Journalists.
