Gabor Scheiring is a political economist, a Marie Curie Fellow at Bocconi University currently working as a research associate in the department of sociology at the University of Cambridge. Combining methods and insights from sociology, economics, political science, and epidemiology, his work looks explores the social consequences of globalization and the political economy of health and democracy. From 2010 to 2014, he served as a member of the Hungarian Parliament. Gabor’s most recent book is The Retreat of Liberal Democracy: Authoritarian Capitalism and the Accumulative State in Hungary (Palgrave, 2020).
