Elin Lerum Boasson teaches political science at the University of Oslo. She has been a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, Freie University, Berlin, and Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her research explains the variation in climate and energy policy across countries. She is also a lead author of the Sixth Assessment Report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
