Judith Shapiro is a professor of Global Environmental Politics, and the director of the Dual Degree in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development at the American University, Washington DC. She is co-author of the book China Goes Green: Coercive Environmentalism for a Troubled Planet (Polity, 2020).
